Caucus Meeting

On August 11th Fruit Heights City held its caucus meetings to elect candidates to run in the upcoming general election.  Fruit Heights City is unique in its election process.  76 years ago, our founding fathers laid ground work for what has become the remaining City in Davis County and one of a handful of Cities within the State of Utah that continues to use the caucus system to nominate candidates who will run in the General Election.  There are two non-partisan parties that have been established within the City’s caucus system, the Pinecone Party, and the Sagebrush Party.  Each of these parties is charged with nominating (by popular vote at the caucus meetings) three (3) candidates who will run for election this year. There really is no difference in the two parties, what is important is that we have a choice of candidates to vote for.

This year our Meet the Candidates Night is scheduled for October 1st and 13th at 7:00 pm at Fruit Heights City Hall.  Residents are encouraged to attend this informational meeting.

This year, the Fruit Heights City Caucus meetings nominated the following individuals who are interested in your vote and to have the opportunity to represent the residents of Fruit Heights City.

Pinecone Party
Diane Anderson (Incumbent)
Gary Anderson
Brandon Halliday

Sagebrush Party
John Wilson
Carol Elliott
Michael Swift
